Alhaji Abubakar Yabo, an All
Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, on Saturday in Sokoto expressed optimism
that President Muhammadu Buhari would implement populist programmes and
policies.
He said such programmes would
redirect the energies of the youths for national development and address social
vices.
Yabo told the News Agency of Nigeria
(NAN) tha the intervention of Buhari on the political scene would soon put an
end to mass unemployment, kidnapping, insurgency, armed robbery and other
crimes.
“Buhari has the political will to
make things better for Nigerians,’’ he said.
The APC chieftain believed that
focusing on youths would address the various challenged facing them.
“The people-oriented programmes that
will soon be unfolded by the president has become necessary as the country has
a large percentage of unemployed youths.’’
Yabo believed that the potential of
the nation’s future leaders should be harnessed for the development of
democracy and the economy.
He called for prayers for God’s
intervention in the socio-economic and political spheres of the country.
“Prayers and support of Nigerians
will ensure peaceful implementation of the government programmes at all levels.
“Buhari has the experience and
knowledge to make things better for Nigerians irrespective of tribe, religious
and political differences.’’
